A cabinet featuring handles and six uneven legs, inspired by the motifs from the store design of Kapital Kyoto. We named it 'Kapinet' by combining 'Kapital' and 'Cabinet.' With its rounded form, it conveys both the strength of solid wood and a sense of softness.
This is my first collection, themed "It's not sophisticated, but it has a certain charm." The Japanese word "yabottai" ( 野暮ったい ) often carries a negative connotation, but I've chosen to reinterpret it positively, transforming it into something endearing. While allowing a hint of human touch, I embrace the quirky nuance that draws people in, even if it isn't stylish in the conventional sense. I blend simple yet catchy forms with the atmosphere created by materials and textures, presenting them as a hybrid of functional furniture, such as chairs and cabinets, and artistic objects.
