The shop design for "ANYTHING," which offers maekake (aprons) and fabrics woven on shuttle looms from about 100 years ago. Incorporating typical elements commonly found in Japanese office spaces—such as carpet tiles, white wallpaper, gypsum board ceilings, and fluorescent lighting—that are often avoided in conventional retail stores, these elements are intentionally preserved. By combining them with eye-catching maekake displayed on mannequins carved from logs and fixtures made from sugi wood with raised grain texture and himekomatsu pine, the design creates new value and perspectives as a retail space.
